Catherine Vale Wines

Catherine Vale is located in the Broke Fordwich Wine Region of the Hunter Valley.
This beautiful part of the Valley is surrounded by National Parks, the Hunter and Brokenback Ranges and the iconic feature of the region is "Yellow Rock". This smiling lizard ensures that the peacefulness of the Valley situated along the Wollombi Brook maintains the integrity of the region.

There is a pride in building something from scratch so come and share the experience of Bill and Wendy Lawson who began Catherine Vale Vineyard from a bare paddock in 1993.

Taste in the “Church on the hill” The great views, bocce courts, barbecue and picnic area will add to your Hunter tasting pleasure like no other venue can. Traditional Hunter whites Semillon, Chardonnay and Verdelho now complemented by pioneer plantings of the Italian red varieties Dolcetto and Barbera and the white Italian varietal Arneis. The wines are beautifully crafted by winemaker John Hordern and the team at Hunter Wine Services at Muswellbrook. Treat yourself to a genuine boutique wine experience shared with the people who grow the fruit and know the vineyard.

Bill and Wendy do the entire vineyard work themselves and it is entirely possible your arrival will draw their appearance from somewhere in the 10 acres of vines accompanied by overtly friendly vineyard dog Ayesha. For a vineyard tasting experience like no other do come and enjoy the total Catherine Vale opportunity.
