A UNIQUE VIEW OF THE HUNTER.
Briar Ridge Vineyard is located in Mount View, a little slice of winemaking paradise reminiscent of the wine growing regions of France. The terroir, the microclimate and the views are unique to the rest of the Hunter, set us apart and make visiting here something unique and special.
Our attitude to growing and making wine is classically radical. Steered by award-winning winemaker,, Andrew Duff, our wines have their foundations firmly set in tradition, with vines established in 1972. The innovation comes through experimentation with alternative varieties and a hybrid of modern technologies, historical references, and minimal intervention.
Briar Ridge is a Halliday Red Star Winery, a coveted rating that is awarded to outstanding wineries regularly producing wines of exemplary quality and typicity. Our wines range from Hunter classics in the premium Single Vineyard and Stockhausen ranges to the contemporary innovations of the Limited Release and Varietal ranges with something that will appeal to every palate on the cellar door menu.

Our cellar door is open seven days per week and our friendly, knowledgeable cellar door staff are always on hand to guide you through your tasting experience, whether that be in the sparkling summer sunshine of our deck or cosied up near the fireplace in winter.
The Briar Ridge Osteria specialises in affordable yet delicious Italian homestyle cooking and offers Gusto Wine Flights as the perfect way to savour our wines. On Sunday afternoons solo musicians provide chilled out tunes for a peaceful fun vibe and there’s plenty of room for the kids to run around in the idyllic landscape. You can even book a private picnic in your own corner of the grounds or bring your furry friend, with Pooch Platters available to keep your pet dog happy.

Cancellation Policy
$10 Tasting Fees and free of charge experiences can be cancelled at anytime however we ask that you keep in mind the preparation that may be made for your booking. All other prepaid experiences must be cancelled prior to 7 days before the experience to receive a full refund.

Briar Ridge Vineyard is a boutique winery located on Mount View Road in the parish of Mount View. Find us via either of these routes: If travelling from Sydney via Wollombi, turn left onto Mount View Road from Wollombi Road in Millfield. This lovely scenic route will take you up over the mountain, past terraced vineyards and farmlands. Keep driving for 17km (approx. 10 mins) to Briar Ridge Vineyard. Please note sections of Mount View road are unsealed. If travelling from Newcastle or Sydney via the Hunter Expressway, turn onto Broke Road from Wine Country Drive and turn left at the roundabout onto McDonalds Road. Follow McDonalds Road to the end and turn right onto Oakey Creek Road. Turn right onto Mount View Road and follow for 7km (approx. 5 mins) to Briar Ridge Vineyard. We look forward to meeting you!
