Kurri Kurri

Rich in heritage with distinctive country pubs, Kurri Kurri is currently mainland Australia’s largest Mural town with more than 60 outdoor unique murals that illustrate the area's history and culture. Enjoy a pictorial journey! 

An image of a Kookaburra, the emblem of Kurri Kurri, is included in each mural, but they can be a bit tricky to spot! You can pick up a map and take a self-guided tour as each mural has a plaque describing the story behind it, or you can book a tour with a local guide. After you've walked around the town and viewed the murals, learn more about the coal-mining heritage of the region at the Edgeworth David Memorial Museum, or take a steam train ride at Richmond Vale Railway Museum. 

Kurri Kurri also hosts the spectacular Nostalgia Festival, held annually in March. It's a three day weekend celebrating the fab 50's and 60's with classic cars, shiny hot rods, fashion parades, and heaps of rock n' roll and 'rockabilly' dances at local venues. Get ready to step back in time for some good old shake, rattle and roll. 

The small towns and villages around Kurri Kurri offer many attractions and activities, distinctive country pubs, mural tours, mining and railway museums and a RV Point.
