Let us take you to Italy - well, a Little Bit of Italy in Broke

Wishing you were in Italy Right Now? Let us take you there this April…

You’ll think you’re enjoying an afternoon Aperitivo in the Alto Adige when you and your amici ascend on Margan during the region’s A Little Bit of Italy festival in Broke which returns this April for the 16th year.

On the weekend of 29, 30 April and Sunday 1st May, in the picturesque Broke Fordwich Wine Region it’s a celebration of all things Italian! At Margan, our courtyard will be transformed into an Italian piazza for casual all-day dining, aperitivo (Italian Happy Hour), and our specially curated tasting experiences. With classical Italian guitarists to set the scene, Italian and estate grown wine, cocktails and beer and a tasty Italian inspired menu, why not while away your festival weekend at Margan. Tickets to all our events (excluding Margan Restaurant which is booked directly) can be made at www.brokefordwich.com.au/events/a-little-bit-of-italy

Join us to welcome in the weekend of festivities at our signature welcome dinner Benvenuta - Dining under the Stars. Our stunning courtyard transforms into a beautiful piazza, with classical Italian guitarists serenading in the background. Chef Joey Ingram and his team will serve a delicious 5 course degustazione menu inspired by regional Italian cuisine and using produce grown in the Margan Kitchen Garden & Orchard. There’s a stellar Italian wine selection to choose from, straight from Andrew Margan’s private cellar as well as sustainably farmed Margan wines by the glass and bottle. It’s rumoured that Joey will serve his house made and treasured single barrel Limoncello made from last year’s lemon harvest! Numbers strictly limited $110 per person (beverage additional). Friday 29 April from 6.30pm.

For the Italophile, our Italian Wine Masterclass, held on both Saturday and Sunday at 10am is a must! Join us on a journey from North to South through our favourite Italian wine regions where you will sip your way through eight different Italian wines. Margan are renowned for a couple of Italian inspired wine varieties and styles so we will slip these in there as well. You be the judge, do we do it better at Margan? Book early, seats limited $100pp. Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May, 10-11am.

For the budding mixologist, let Ollie Margan teach you the art of aperitivo cocktail making with our Margantini Cocktail Masterclass. With several ‘Barman of the Year’ accolades under his belt and now our master vermouth creator (and winemaker) here at Margan, here is your opportunity to learn from the best. Ollie will explain how he makes Margan Vermouth from botanicals grown onsite and then show you how to make your own Italian inspired vermouth cocktails. Then relax, sip and savour your two cocktails that you’ll then be able to recreate at home with take away recipe cards. Margantini Cocktail Masterclass, Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May, 3-4pm. $50pp.

If you’re looking for a spot to indulge in all things Italian while soaking up the sun, book Alfresco in the Piazza at Margan. Be greeted with our signature Margan Spritz cocktail and a graze on house cured olives, grissini and parmesan for $25pp. For those wanting a little more, select from our Piazza menu which will feature house made arancini, salumi, formaggi, gelato, limoncello and more. 90 minute sittings available both Saturday 30 April and Sunday 1 May. 10am/11.30am/1pm/2.30pm/4pm, from $25pp.

For the dedicated foodie, seek solace from the festival vibe and be treated to our Signature Degustation dining experience at our acclaimed Margan Restaurant. With an Italian twist of course, the five course menu showcases hyper-local organic produce from our 1 hectare kitchen garden & orchard. Enjoy sustainably farmed Margan wines by the glass or bottle as well as a curated selection of Italian wines. Five course degustation from $110 per person, beverages additional. Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April lunch and dinner and Sunday 1 May lunch. For lunch or dinner reservations over this festival weekend book directly ONLY at margan.com.au

After a full day of wine tasting in Broke, why not enjoy a classic Italian ‘happy hour” or as we call it - Aperitivo at Margan. Settle back with two house curated cocktails of your choice featuring our estate grown and made Vermouth. Think Margroni, Margantini and a couple of extras with a side morsel to pick at. Pick up some tips and take away recipe cards so you can recreate these at home. This twilight experience is a great way to wind the day down or warm up before dining at Margan Restaurant. Booking essential 5-6.30pm every Friday and Saturday. $50 per person.
