McGuigan wins International Trophy at Decanter World Wine Awards in London

Highly decorated wine producer McGuigan Wines continues to dazzle on the world stage with it's Bin 9000 Hunter Valley Semillon 2007 being recognised as the best white wine of show under £15 (AU$25) at the prestigious Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) in London. 

Competing against a total of 14,362 wines from 61 regions across the globe, the McGuigan Bin 9000 Hunter Valley Semillon 2007 was awarded the International White Single Varietal Under £15 Trophy, one of the only 32 trophies from across the competition, and one of the only six trophies awarded to an Australian wine. 

The wine was also awarded a gold medal and received the Australia White Single Varietal under £15 Trophy

Commenting on the win, reigning Hunter Valley Winemaker of the Year, Peter Hall said: "The McGuigan Bin 9000 Hunter Valley Semillon 2007 is a remarkable wine and a worthy recipient of the title of the best single varietal white wine of the competition. In essence, this wine took on all comers from every corner of the globe and came out trumps. What a fantastic win for the Hunter Valley, a great result for the Australian wine industry and a phenomenal result for McGuigan Wines"

The wine, which retails for AU$25 at the cellar door and for £13.99 in select independant retailers in the UK, continues the wineries recent global awards success. Crowned White Winemaker of the Year 2013 for the third time in five years at the International Wine Challenge, McGuigan Wines is also the reigning International Wine & Spirits Competition International Winemaker of the Year, having been awarded the title of the world's bst winemaker in 2099, 2011 and again in 2012.
