Rolling Stones Set to Rock The Hunter Valley

THE Rolling Stones have added a Hunter Valley date to their postponed Australian tour, bringing one of the world's most enduring bands to the region for the first - and most likely last - time.

The band confirmed yesterday the rescheduled dates for the sold-out Australian and New Zealand leg of their 14 On Fire tour - their first in eight years - which was postponed after the tragic death of frontman Mick Jagger's partner L'Wren Scott on March 17.

The rescheduled tour starts on October 25 and comprises new dates for shows in Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Hanging Rock, Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland as well as new shows at Perth Arena on Saturday November 1 and at Hope Estate on Saturday November 15.

Excited estate owner Michael Hope said Frontier Touring's Michael Gudinski confirmed the new show at the Pokolbin winery just 32 minutes before announcing the rescheduled tour yesterday afternoon.

"I nearly fell over when he said we were going to do it," Mr Hope said.

"These guys are so huge - for them to play at my little winery in the Hunter Valley is just amazing. This is huge for us and the whole of the Hunter."
