The Gum Ball takes a break in 2015

After celebrating the 10th anniversary event to its biggest crowd in April this year, the popular weekend camping festival, 'The Gum Ball' has announced it will be taking a year off in 2015.

The event which has featured well over 200 acts in its 10 years, adds that it is not another festival casualty, just a small hard working team looking to take a short break, with plans to be back bigger than ever in 2016.

'It's been a big 10 years building and we're far from over, we just plan to take some time early next year to refresh, plan a further Dashville event, get married, travel, perhaps even record an album ourselves.' Says festival organiser, Matt 'Magpie' Johnston.

To curb the disappointment of The Gum Ball's absence in 2015, the team at the festival's home, Dashville, have other events already scheduled, promising all of the goodness that Dashville events have become known for.

A special one-off concert, 'Dashville On Main Street', a tribute to the Rolling Stones, will be held Friday 14th Nov, the day before the real Stones play at Hope Estate vineyard.

'When the biggest band in the world comes to town, it's only right to throw a 'party' explains Johnston. 'We're looking to keep this one pretty simple - BYO, camping, a mass gathering of friends, celebrating the music we love'.

The tribute eventwill feature famed supergroup The Dashville Progress Society, plus supports to be announced.

Dashville's other sell-out event, PigSty In July will also be unaffected, returning on 4th July 2015, whilst the team work towards a weekend festival in the pipes for October 2015.
