WOLLOMBI VALLEY FOR A TRUE AUSSIE BUSH EXPERIENCE!
For a true Aussie bush experience, dust off your boots and press those ballgowns and head to out to the township of Wollombi in the lower Hunter Valley, as it gears up for the inaugural Boots ‘n’ Ballgowns dinner/dance on Friday 31st October 2014. The opening event for the Wollombi Small Farms Fair, this is country hospitality at its finest in one of NSW’s most historic towns located only 90mins north of Sydney and 60mins South West of Newcastle.
“We are so thrilled to be putting this on,” said Michael Noyce, president of Wollombi Valley Tourism. “ Wollombi is a historic town located on the old convict road from Sydney and is extremely proud of its rural location and activities. This will really kick off the weekend for the Wollombi Small Farms Fair.”
Under the marquee in the middle of town, Boots ‘n’ Ballgowns will feature the kings of Aussie bush music and dancing, the Bushwackers - doing what they do best – entertaining and calling traditional Australian country dances, as they have always done since 1971. The Bushwackers have had had thousands of people doing the ‘Heel and Toe’ and ‘Strip the Willow’ and there’s scarcely a schoolkid who didn’t learn a bit of bushdancing to the music of The Bushwackers.
The dinner menu is a good old fashioned bullock and lambs on a spit accompanied with all trimmings, roast vegetables and salads galore with your choice of homemade desserts – a spread that would make any CWA member proud!
A full open bar will stock wine, beer, champagne and spirits. Bar tickets will be sold on the evening. Please note that this is an over 18’s event. This is a ticketed event so book now and avoid disappointment as we only have limited places available. Tickets are $65 per person.
