Margan joins the NSW Tourism Awards Hall of Fame for the second time!
Last night in Sydney at the NSW Tourism Awards Margan celebrated with two prestigious wins.
Margan was awarded Gold for Best Tourism Winery and now enters the NSW Tourism Hall of Fame in recognition of three consecutive wins.
Margan was also awarded Gold for Excellence in Food Tourism in recognition of its commitment to giving guests a unique food experience via it’s restaurant, range of estate grown produce, vineyard and wine tasting operations and food experiences such as cooking schools and garden tours.
The Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner applauded the industry’s leading contributors and recognised the diversity, professionalism and world-class nature of the businesses and products within the NSW tourism industry.
These new awards add to the growing list of recent accolades.

The winners now go on to become finalists in the National Tourism Awards to be held in Melbourne on Friday 5th February 2016.
Margan Family Wines was established in 1997 by husband and wife team Lisa and Andrew Margan, and are proud to be considered a leading Hunter Valley and Australian wine producer. Margan is based in the picturesque valley of Broke in Australia’s oldest and most visited wine region of the Hunter Valley. The business boasts over 100 hectares of old, established vineyards, a state of the art winery and leading wine and food tourism operations. Winemaker Andrew Margan handcrafts single vineyard wines, which are true reflections of their variety and their region.
The Margan range of wines is proudly all Hunter Valley estate grown - estate made, and production averages 35,000 cases per year with distribution within Australia and to over a dozen export destinations. Over the last 19 years, the wines have developed a loyal following among wine lovers and critics alike, as well as being awarded many major trophies in National and International wine shows.
Lisa Margan oversees the food and wine tourism operations for the business and is proud of the many awards the team has received over the years. Visitors to the stunning rammed earth tasting room and restaurant are treated to a unique food and wine experience. The tasting room offers latest release and museum Margan wines for sampling and sales. Margan restaurant offers seasonally inspired food and leads the region with its range of estate grown produce including the extensive one-acre kitchen garden, orchard, free range chickens, olive groves, bees and estate reared lambs.
On site experiences for guests include wine tasting, winery and vineyard tours, cooking schools and garden ‘look and pick’ tours. The Margan Barrel Hall is a popular venue for weddings, functions and conferences.
Margan is a leader in environmental sustainability and is accredited with the Entwine Program and benchmarked to ISO 14000 for Best Practice in environmental stewardship.
