Sydney food devotees were once again reminded that Hunter Valley Wine Country restaurants should be at the top of every must do dine list, with 4 of the Hunter Valley’s restaurants being awarded Chef Hats at  the prestigious Sydney Morning Herald 2017 Good Food Guide  awards held last night.

"Hunter Valley Wine Country, right on the doorstep of Australia's gateway Sydney, has gained recognition as a premier wine and food destination," Chairman of the Hunter Valley Wine and Tourism Association (HVWTA), George Souris said.

The much anticipated reviews revealed the Hunter Valley’s iconic Muse Restaurant maintained its two hats and it’s ‘sister’ restaurant Muse Kitchen, its one hat. Sally and Robert Molines also maintained their one hat for their stunningly beautiful restaurant Bistro Molines whilst Margan Restaurant made its first time appearance being awarded one hat.

"With growing tourism numbers both from domestic and international sources, the Hunter Valley has a lot to boast about: premium restaurants; a full range of accommodation; spectacular attractions; golf resorts; and the wines and their cellar doors," Mr Souris said.

The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide, conceived in 1975, celebrates the best in dining in Sydney and Regional New South Wales. Restaurants are assessed according to a stringent rating system, with those meeting these requirements awarded the highest Australian restaurant accolade: one, two or three chef’s hats.

Congratulations to Muse, Muse Kitchen, Bistro Molines and Margan Restaurant for this outstanding achievement.
