Hunter Valley scoops the pool at NSW Wine Awards
The Hunter Valley has cemented its position as Australia’s leading wine region by scooping the pool at the 2017 Pier One Sydney Harbour NSW Wine Awards.
Awarded to the state’s best wines and winemakers by the NSW Wine Industry Association, the Hunter Valley won ten of the 18 trophies including the NSW Governor’s Trophy for Best in Show for Tyrrell’s 2005 Vat 1 Semillon.
According to Hunter Valley Wine & Tourism Association General Manager, Jo Thomas, the Hunter Valley’s commitment to producing high quality wines is reflected in the high number of awards won.
“As Australia’s oldest wine growing region, the Hunter Valley packs a serious punch and these awards showcase the amazing wines being produced in the region as well as the fact we’re producing some of Australia’s best wines,’ she said.
