UNCORKED AVALON ANNOUNCES SEMILLON AND OYSTER POP-UP BAR

Hunter Valley Uncorked Avalon

The sandy shores of Avalon will burst to life with the renowned delights of the Hunter Valley on Sunday 22 April, 2018 as part of the Uncorked Avalon Festival at The Village Green at Dunbar Park.

Visitors can wander through food stalls, sampling gourmet delights and incredible wines of Australia’s oldest wine region including an exciting new addition to this year’s Festival program the Riedel pop-­up Semillon & Oyster Bar. 

The Riedel pop-­up bar will be hosted by four of the region’s leading winemakers and vignerons who will showcase the Hunter Valley's iconic Semillon variety matched with Sydney Rock oysters. The master classes by Mount Pleasant Wines, McLeish Estate Wines, Tamburlaine Organic Wines and Tulloch Wines run for 45 minutes and cost $45 per person, which includes a souvenir Riedel glass, a flight of Hunter Valley Semillon and half a dozen oysters and are limited to 20 spots only, so be sure to book in advance. 

Riedel Semillon & Oyster Bar Session Times:
11am - 1145am: Masterclass hosted by Tulloch Wines
Midday - 1245pm: Masterclass hosted by McLeish Estate Wines
1pm - 145pm: Masterclass hosted by Tamburlaine Organic Wines
2pm - 245pm: Masterclass hosted by Mount Pleasant Wines

Bringing together 25 wineries from Australia’s premium wine-growing region, Uncorked Avalon also provides a taste of what’s to come at this year’s Hunter Valley Food & Wine Festival, which spans May and June and celebrates the epicurean delights of the iconic region.

Uncorked Avalon features wineries including Allandale Winery, Briar Ridge Vineyard Brokenwood Wines, De Iuliis Wines, First Creek Wines, Glandore Estate Wines, Hungerford Hill Wines, McLeish Estate Wines, Margan Family Wines, Mistletoe Winery, Mount Pleasant Wines, Pepper Tree Wines, Peter Drayton Wines, Peterson House, Peterson Wines & Savanah Estate, RidgeView Wines, Tamburlaine Organic Wines, Thomas Wines, Tulloch Wines, Two Rivers Winery, Tyrrell's Wines, Vinden Estate & The Headcase and Wynwood Estate. Craft beer also available through Ironbark Hill Brewhouse.

Restaurants and producers include: Bar Coco, Choux Patisserie, Hunter Valley Cheese Company, Il Cacciatore, Inbocca, Miss Mables, Moorebank and Glass on the Grass, Pimp My Chimney, Pukara Estate, Rockin Oysters and The Cellar Restaurant.

The funky sounds of Soul Shack Entertainment will keep guests dancing throughout the day.

If you want to skip the line, a festival glass and four tasting vouchers can be purchased online through prior to the event for $26.00. To enjoy wine tasting a festival glass can be purchased on the day for $10.00, wine tasting vouchers are $4.00 each.

Uncorked Avalon begins at 10.30am, with the last wine vouchers sold at 4.30pm and last wine poured at 4.45pm. The day finishes at 5pm.
