En Plein Air CompetitionEn Plein Air - Art in the Vines Competition

When: 29 Apr - 1 May 8am to 530pm Daily

Where: Around Hermitage Wine and Food Trail Pokolbin Hunter Valley

Artists are invited to bring their own materials and experience the joy of ‘En Plein Air, the practise of painting outdoors, in direct engagement with nature, where the transitory effects of light can be observed and recorded. Participating venues Estate Tuscany, Mistletoe Winery or Misty Glen Wines. Bring your easel and create your masterpiece! Artworks produced over the nominated days may go on exhibition at Mistletoe Winery - Pokolbin Gallery.


Meet the Growers Broke Fordwich Meet the Growers

 When: 6 & 7 May, 13 & 14 May

 Where: Various locations in Broke Fordwich

Over the first two weekends in May our Growers will join you in our Cellar Doors, Vineyards and Olive Groves to share their knowledge, stories and to taste through wines and sample produce with you. You’ll learn the cycle of the vineyard and the olive grove, the importance of soil and climate, and what it is that makes Broke Fordwich unique. To help explain you’ll take a wander in the vineyard (and grove) and taste examples of “great wine”.

Come and taste the trophy winning wines Tempranillo Graciano and Shiraz Mourvedre available at the cellar door throughout the Wine and Food Festival.

 A Taste of Wollombi

 Where: Wollombi Village (along the main street)

Come and enjoy a ‘Taste of Wollombi’ as the village celebrates with live music and an abundance of local produce including jams, olives, cured meats, cheese and more. Meet our vignerons and artisans, sample fine wines & great food. Cafés serve delicious lunch and treats. Try Wollombi Tavern’s famous ‘Jungle Juice’!

Feeling Playful? Hermitage Road and the surrounding beautiful countryside has a limited offer... come and play at our vineyards – wine tasting and games for all! Boules, croquet, giant chess, horseshoes, giant pickup sticks, giant jenga. At various locations on the Around Hermitage Wine and Food trail.

 Annual Barrel Hall Sale

 When: June long weekend - 10am - 5pm

 Where: Margan Restaurant & Winery, 1238 Milbrodale Rd, Broke

A range of aged wines will be offered for taste and sale. Wines include medal winners, limited releases, museum reserve, great vintages as well as quaffers.
