Playtime here goes further than our riverside, vineyard and small town playgrounds. Within the grounds of cellar doors you’ll visit are grassy surrounds where the kids are free to roam, sculpture walks, lawn games, and themed gardens with fairytale installations and seasonal displays, from dinosaurs and snow to Christmas lights. No need to skip the tastings altogether

We’re not short on cellar doors creative with keeping the kids engaged while you savour the wines.

Think local cheese and kombucha tastings for teens, snack-matching for kids, Giant Jenga, colouring-in, activity boxes, or a dedicated childrens zone.

Or hire them here! Active families can follow Hermitage road cycleway from one boutique cellar door to another, pausing for family photos in spectacular scenery. Pack a picnic lunch and pick a spot in lush countryside to soak in the fresh air and sunlight together.

Tempt fussy eaters with food adventure

We’re big on just-picked produce. Explore a kitchen garden on the way to your table to spark your kids’ appetite for eating well. Book a big family table for a great value country pub meal, ease into your mornings together with a relaxed café breakfast, take wood-fired pizza back to your vineyard stay for quality time-out, share a generous graze-board of local cheeses and charcuterie, or treat the fam to fine-dining where the chef’s signature style is carried over to the kids menu. Chocolate creations here are an art form, and don’t even get us started on our infamous dessert bar! 

Snap a pic with a python or alpaca

There’ll be smiles all-round, up-close with cheeky alpacas, where you can even book a farm stay. Delight the kids with hand-feeding farm animals and kangaroos at Hunter Valley Wildlife Park, and book an awesome encounter with a python or cute baby wombat.
